We understand that when you look at a product, you also want to know what about it makes it special. To make that job easier for you, we include these icons to easily show the products virtues and attributes.

Australian MadeProducts made in Australia will feature this logo. The vast majority of Aussie Made products will also be made from local components (ingredients such as Pure & Green Organics, or content such as Earth Greetings). There are some products which whilst being Australian Made will contain imported components (BooSox are locally made, but the Bamboo fibre is sourced from China). |

Made from BambooEvery now and then you hear about the latest wonder product or material. We think Bamboo fits that bill. Bamboo is extremely versatile, grows extraordinarily quickly off rain water and doesn't require pesticides to grow. In addition, Bamboo can be made into the hardest of hardwood flooring, to the softest in nappies. There's little this sustainable grass cannot be made into. |

Biodegradable ContentWhen it comes to being biodegradable, it really needs to be. You could say that plastic bags biodegrade (even if it is over thousands of years), but the products we label as biodegradable will degrade within 3 to six months when placed in a compost bin, bokashi bin, worm farm or other similar active systems. Some products will break down in as little as 10 days. |

BPA FreeBy now, we're all used to the idea of plastics being generally bad for the planet. Now we're learning that plastics can be bad for our health, particularly when we re-use plastic bottles, a chemical called Bisphenol-A (BPA) can leach into the contents. The plastic products we stock are #5 plastic which does not contain BPA and are safe for regular use. |

Certified OrganicThere is increasing confusion as to what Certified Organic means. In essence, the ingredients are certified free of any chemicals of any sort (during production, manufacture etc). We apply this logo only to products containing Certified Organic ingredients, and where possible, we will indicate what percentage of the product is certified organic. |

FairtradeProducts labelled Fairtrade are made by small communities in various countries in a fair, safe and well paid for environment. This can mean that sometimes the products we have cost slightly more than others from a less sustainable environment. Where possible, our Fairtrade products are also made from recycled content to increase the environmental and social benefits. |

Grey Water SafeGrey Water Safe labelled products can be safely used with all grey water systems. This means that they can safely be used to water gardens, flush toilets etc. As with any grey water system, it's important to remember that what you put into the water determines if it's grey water. For instance, if you wash oil-soaked pans in grey water safe detergent, the oils make the water "black water" and unsuitable for reuse. |

Made from Natural MaterialsWe use this icon to indicate products that are made from natural or non-certified organic materials or ingredients. Some products will proclaim that they are organic, but if they haven't achieved certification, they will not be labelled as organic. Natural materials include products made from organic cotton, through to hair care without the use of chemicals or synthetics. |

Not Tested On AnimalsProducts need to be certified as Not Tested On Animals to feature this icon. This states that the company has not tested it's product on animals, or that any components of the product (from other suppliers) have also not been tested on animals. Products that do not feature this icon do not indicate testing on animals, just that certification has not been achieved. |

Made from Recycled ContentBeing made from recycled content is high on the list of criteria for us. In most cases, the product itself is made from recycled content as well as the packaging. The use of recycled content is vital to us to ensure that we don't perpetuate the consumerist cycle of using virgin materials. This is evident if you visit our retail stores which are made of a high content of recycled materials. |
