We do things a little differently around here. We are a green company in a true sense - it's not just the products we sell, it's the way we do business. From the day aToMik Green launched online, the products we sell, our logistics and how we power our offices has been greenified all the way through.

Saving more than the planet

You'll find that most of the products we offer are not only a great idea for saving the planet, they will also save you money. We understand that sometimes its hard to make the financial decision to decrease your carbon footprint so we have gone out of our way to source products and suppliers that will not only save the environment, but also save you money over the long run. That's why where we list our products, we also list the benefits to the environment and your hip pocket. After all - if you can save some money saving the environment then we're all a little better off, aren't we?

Shop in Carbon Positivity

The catchphrase of the moment has to be Carbon Neutrality. It basically means that for every act that creates carbon we offset or sequester that carbon, bringing us to a neutral position. So how do you shop in carbon positivity? If we look at a "real world" situation, when you buy a product from your supermarket, the "carbon cost" of that product should include the cost of you going to the store, buying the product, taking it home and then storing it. Unfortunately, until the world has a united Carbon Accounting System, manufacturers, transport companies and even stores don't have to take into account the carbon created in bringing the product to you.

That is why aToMik Green has decided that for each product we sell, we will take into account the carbon cost of production, transport and shipping, storage and it's delivery to you. But even more than that, we have decided to keep you in mind. Every month we will look at our total visitor counts, make some generous assumptions on your computers' hardware and then assign a Carbon Cost to that. We will then ensure that we take that into account as we offset our total carbon footprint.

Not only will the products you buy be better for this planet, but the very action of buying the gear will be negated! How easy is that!

The Next Generation

There are plenty of products available at the moment that can help you do your bit for the environment. Some of those are Compact Fluorescent Lights (CFLs) and, with the phasing out of incandescent light tubes, many are switching to these longer lasting, more efficient alternatives. We at aToMik Green look at these trends and also at the products themselves. We see the mercury content of these CFLs and know that they aren't the answer. This underpins our continual search for the next big thing. We're looking for the next generation to make sure the savings for you and the planet are there. Always look out for our latest products because you know we'll have road tested them to make sure they work and are a better solution.

We know there is so much information out there and most times you could go crazy just trying to find what you are looking for. So when it comes to environmental tips and tricks, amusing anecdotes or that little factoid that will amaze at dinner parties - we want to provide you with a great place to go.
